The Stakes

What Was on the Line

Netflix’s Creator Summit was the company’s most public creator-facing event of the year — and its first at this scale. The brief called for an intimate, high-production experience for 800 of the platform’s top creators and influencers, with live performances, multi-track programming, and real-time social content capture. Any production failure would go viral instantly. The venue, catering, AV, and talent logistics all had to run without a single visible crack — in front of an audience that gets paid to post everything they see.

The Challenge

What Made This Hard

A summit of this scale — 800 creators, three floors, simultaneous programming tracks — created a set of operational problems that don’t exist at a standard corporate event.
Why They Chose Us

Why EMRG

Netflix’s team spoke with several event production companies before selecting EMRG Media. The deciding factors were EMRG’s track record producing large-scale creator and influencer events in New York City, direct access to premium venues including Nebula, a 10,000 sq ft state-of-the-art event space in Manhattan, and a production team with hands-on experience managing multi-track programming for high-profile brand events. Netflix wanted a partner who understood the unique pressures of producing in front of an audience that documents everything in real time, and EMRG’s experience made that decision straightforward.

The Solution

What EMRG Built

EMRG designed and executed a full-day, multi-track creator summit across three floors of Spring Studios. The event was structured as three simultaneous programming tracks, a main-stage keynote with live performances, a creator masterclass series in a second breakout space, and a brand activation and networking floor on the ground level. Every space was branded, every transition was choreographed, and every AV element was tested the night before.
The biggest operational risk was guest flow across three simultaneous programming tracks. EMRG built a staggered transition schedule with dedicated floor managers at each elevator bank, ensuring 800 creators moved between stages, content stations, and food service without bottlenecks or dead time.

"Honestly, I stopped checking in with the production team by noon. That sounds like a small thing but it isn't — at an event this size, that's how you know it's actually working."

— Sarah Chen, Director of Creator Partnerships, Netflix

Frequently Asked Questions

For an 800-person creator summit with multi-track programming, live content capture, and high-production AV, a full production timeline typically runs 10–14 weeks from kickoff to load-out. This covers venue contracting, vendor sourcing, run-of-show development, social content station design, talent logistics, and day-of staffing. Rush timelines as short as 5–6 weeks are possible for clients with repeat venue relationships and pre-established vendor agreements.
All-in production budgets for an 800-person creator summit in NYC typically range from $650,000 to $1.2M depending on AV complexity, catering tier, talent requirements, and content capture infrastructure. Events requiring live social content stations at multiple points throughout the venue, simultaneous programming tracks, and broadcast-quality main stage production will trend toward the upper range. Fixed-fee proposals are standard practice and eliminate surprise line items.
Managing multi-track programming requires precise scheduling architecture — staggered session start times, clear wayfinding, dedicated floor staff at each programming node, and a central operations lead with full-venue visibility. For live social content capture, dedicated stations at 6–10 points throughout the venue allow creators to generate content without interrupting main stage programming. Real-time communication between the operations team and each programming track prevents bottlenecks and dead time between sessions.
Spring Studios in Tribeca is one of the top choices for creator summits due to its multi-floor layout, production-ready infrastructure, natural light options, and proximity to downtown media and entertainment hubs. For events requiring simultaneous programming tracks and social content capture zones, multi-level venues with distinct spaces per floor offer the separation needed to run programming without sound bleed or foot traffic conflicts. Venue selection should be driven by programming architecture before capacity alone.
Brand protection at a creator event requires environmental design that controls what gets captured — not what gets posted. This means managing sightlines to backstage areas, ensuring every visible space meets brand standards, briefing production staff on content-sensitive areas, and maintaining AV reliability at every moment creators are filming. Any visible crack in production — a late cue, an empty stage, a malfunctioning screen — will go public within seconds. The only reliable protection is flawless execution across every visible inch of the venue.
